My Items

Workgroups Portal is designed with the ability for users to mark various items they work with and have them appear in the My Items tab. This provides a quick and easy way for users to organize important and/or frequently viewed items for easy access.

The type of items available for marking to appear in the My Items page will vary depending on the components installed (Approval Manager and/or Job Manager) and the access permissions for the currently logged in user.

For a Job Manager system, the following items can be made to appear in the My Items page:

Jobs and Job Saved Job Finds

Estimates and Saved Estimate Finds

Customers and Saved Customer Finds

Invoices and Saved Invoice Finds

Note: Job Manager only systems will not display My Proofs.

It is important to remember that items that appear in the My Items page will also appear in their normal locations. For instance a Job that appears in My Items will not be removed from the Jobs List appearing in the Jobs page.

Additionally, items that are marked to appear in the My Items tab are done so on a per-user basis. Items marked to appear in My Items by one user do not automatically appear in the My Items page for other users.

Identifying objects that can appear in My Items

As you work within your Job Manager system, you will notice certain objects that are presented with a star icon ( ) next to them. These objects are available for appearing in My Items by clicking the star icon. When selected to appear in My Items, the star icon will appear yellow: ( ).

Additionally, any saved Find will appear in My Items as well.

Marking objects to appear in My Items

1. Locate an object you want to appear in the My Items page.
2. Click the white Star icon ( ) next to the object. The icon will turn yellow ( ), indicating that it will also appear in the My Items page.

Removing objects from My Items

1. Open the My Items page by clicking the My Items tab.
2. Locate the object you want to remove from the My Items page.
3. Click the yellow star icon ( ) next to the object. The star icon will turn white ( ). Objects appearing in the My Items page with a white Star icon will be gone the next time the page is visited or is reloaded. (Finds can be removed by clicking the "Delete Find" link. Deleting a saved Find from the My Items page will remove the Find from the system.
