- Select the Jobs tab and click New Job. This will open the New Job page.
- Type the job number and job name in the appropriate fields.
Note: If auto-numbering is enabled, the text “<auto>” will appear in the Number field. To let Job Manager assign the next available job number, do not replace this text with a number. The job number will be assigned to the job when it is added to the database. If the “Allow Overrides” setting for auto-numbering is enabled, the user may replace the text “<auto>” with a specific job number. - Select the appropriate customer by clicking the Customer Search tool (
) and selecting a Customer from the popup window. This will assign the customer to the job that you are creating. When a customer is selected, the CSR, sales rep, bill to and ship to fields will be automatically set based on the information saved for that customer. Each of these can be changed for an individual job.
- Optional: Select the appropriate workflow by clicking the Workflow Search tool (
) and selecting a workflow from the Workflow popup. Jobs can take on automatic workflows (Automatic), no workflow at all (No Workflow), or a workflow template that is created by the Administrator. Selecting No Workflow will disable the job status features of Job Manager for this specific job.
Note: Workflows can be assigned or changed for an individual job as long as there are no job charges applied to the job. Once job charges have been applied to the job, the workflow cannot be edited for the Job. - Select the Order Items or Production Charges billing type from the Billing Type popup, based on how you want Job Manager to create the initial invoice for the job.
- Type the rest of the job information needed in the appropriate fields. Additional information could include a billing note, job description, shipping method, quote amount, customer purchase order number and amount, freight amount, and/or the due date and due time.
- Click Add (
). This will save the new job to the database and make it available for use throughout the rest of the Job Manager system.
