- Select the Tax Structures link in the Administration tab. This will open the Tax Structures page.
- Select the New Tax Structure link in the page header. This will open the New Tax Structure page.
- Type the tax structure code and name in the appropriate fields of the window. Tax Structure codes are alphanumeric and can include up to 8 characters. Tax Structure names are also alphanumeric and can include up to 40 characters.
- Type the tax percentage rate, general ledger code, and description for the first tax of the tax structure.
- Click the Tax Freight check box for the first tax if freight is also to be taxed for jobs/invoices when this tax structure is used.
- Repeat Steps 4-5 as needed for taxes 2 and 3.
- Click the Compound Tax check box if you want the Job Manager system to calculate each tax rate separately for the tax structure.
NOTE: Designating a tax structure as being a compound tax will calculate all three tax rates as separate single tax percentages. If the tax structure is not designated as a compound tax, it will be calculated as a single tax percentage. - Click the appropriate taxable default options to enable/disable labor, material, and other items to be taxed when this tax structure is used for jobs and invoices.
- Click Add (
). This will save the new tax structure to the database.
- Repeat this procedure for each additional tax structure you would like to define in the Job Manager system.
